2026 Syllabus - Classical Piano

Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
To be considered for Provincial Finals, competitors must enter a minimum of two same level classes and received a mark over 85, and be recommended by the adjudicators. All classes are eligible towards one of the two classes required, unless indicated otherwise.
Introductory and Beginner Piano Solo
This class is not eligible for nomination to Provincials.
Competitor’s own choice for these beginner aged classes.
Selections may be chosen from RCM/CC Preparatory syllabi or other beginner piano methods. Standard of excellence will be used for marking.
Memorization is encouraged. To receive an award or mark, and to be eligible for provincials, memorization is mandatory. Please refer to Rules 19 – 22 for specifics.

Concert Class
This class is not eligible for nomination to Provincials.
Own choice of two contrasting selections of music must be from the Current RCM and CC syllabi.
Maximum performance time is indicated by level as follows:
- Levels 2 to 5: 5 minutes
- Levels 6 to 8: 10 minutes
- Levels 9 and 10: 15 minutes
- Pre-Diploma: 20 minutes
Memorization is mandatory.
