Guitar, Popular Ages
Please provide an original score for the adjudicator, handed in to the Secretary. Sheet music must be provided to the adjudicators (no charts or tabs permitted) and purchased copies must have documentation.
Memorization is encouraged. To receive an award or mark, and to be eligible for provincials, memorization is mandatory. Please refer to Rules 19 – 22 for specifics.
Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
Competitors must perform a selection from any of the following genres: contemporary, pop, pop/folk, R&B, soul, rock, alternative, indie, jazz or country.
NOT PERIMITTED:
- Rap and Hip Hop
- Pieces listed in the RCM or CC Classical Syllabi
Age ranges are divided as follows:
- Beginner: ages 6 to 8
- Primary: ages 9 and 10
- Elementary: ages 11 and 12
- Junior: ages 13 and 14
- Intermediate: ages 15 and 16
- Senior: ages 17 and 18
- Advanced: ages 19 to 28
- Adult: 29 and over
